Caedfael's cave is in a small village on the northern edge of Grimsby in North East Lincolnshire.

Grimsby was, before the demise of the industry, a well known fishing port on the east coast. Situated on the southern bank at the mouth of the River Humber. The area now has a large and varied industrial complex.

Being a suburb of the main town his village is close enough to keep all the benefits of town life with the pseudo village life — being close to the Lincolnshire Wolds he is in the open countryside with only a very short stroll from his cave. Best of both worlds, eh?
